King Kullen and Boar’s Head Celebrate 20-Year Partnership

This year King Kullen and Boar’s Head proudly celebrate a 20-year partnership of unwavering commitment, unmatched quality and customer service. For the past two decades, King Kullen and Boar’s Head have come together to offer the freshest meats, cheeses and more.

King Kullen

Michael J. Cullen introduced families of Long Island and surrounding areas to America’s First Supermarket in 1930. The Smithsonian Institute acknowledges King Kullen as America’s First Supermarket, as it was “the first to fulfill all five criteria that define the modern supermarket: separate departments, self-service, discount pricing, chain marketing and volume dealing.”

Today, four generations later, King Kullen is still family owned and operated, and remains a leader in the supermarket industry. King Kullen has come a long way since its first store in a vacant warehouse in Jamaica, Queens. King Kullen currently operates 32 stores in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The stores pride themselves on robust grocery offerings, as well as freshly prepared foods and strong perishable departments. A highlight of the perishable offering is King Kullen’s partnership with Boar’s Head.

Boar’s Head

Founded in 1905 by Frank Brunckhorst, Boar’s Head set out to craft quality products of uncompromising standards by using only the finest ingredients, including whole muscle beef, pork and poultry, as well as spices sourced from around the globe. Over 110 years later, Boar’s Head remains family owned, and is dedicated to providing the highest quality service and product to their customers.
